Some things to remember if you’re responding to Purple Pencil Project’s ‘Prompts’, which we run each month, calling for poems, short and flash fiction entries from our readers:
- The prompt will be displayed on the first of every month and submissions are open till the third last day of that same month
- The response to a prompt can either be a poem (upto 300 words), flash fiction (upto 500 words) or a short story (upto 3000 words)
- The winning work will go up online on the last day of the month. Entries for prompts for previous months will not be considered at all
- First publication rights remain with Purple Pencil Project, but you may publish it elsewhere by giving Purple Pencil Project first publication credits, in case of an original work. We are currently also accepting work that has appeared not more than once before (includes all portals, digital and print).
