Everyone loves true crime stories for a myriad of reasons – the love of puzzle solving, the insight into the human mind, the shock of the absurdity of the human mind. Be it podcasts, TV series, films, or books; true crime has emerged as a popular genre over the last few years. Think Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood and Michelle McNamara’s I’ll Be Gone in the Dark. But true crime is not popular in the West alone. In India too, there has been a surge of such stories. Often these stories are written by people who have been in the know of things, but there are also many titles that are written by people who have had no direct link with the cases they are writing about. Here is a list of a few true crime books written by Indian writers.
